Ash Wednesday

#ashwednesday Dear families and friends of De La Salle College
Due to large absences and COVID related illness, we have had to re-think our important Ash Wednesday Service for March 2nd.
Students present at school will be joining in with their homeroom and conducting an in class ‘Liturgy of the Word’. Ashes will be distributed at morning tea and lunch from the College Chapel (this will be done dry and sprinkled on the head). Please encourage your son to receive the ashes, and to stop and reflect on their importance. As we wish all our families to take part, I encourage you to do a special service at home if your family and son are isolating.
I share with you here a Google Drive folder where you can access the same resources that are being used in the homerooms Wednesday morning: https://drive.google.com/…/1rph7wqXo5Y4jgqVbgfARcb…
I pray this is useful to you. Be sure to download all files to your device first, so the PowerPoint runs smoothly.
Further information on Ash Wednesday and its importance to Catholics and Christians worldwide will also be available in this week’s College Newsletter.
Peace in Christ and all the Blessings of Our Lord and Redeemer as we begin this Lent.
