Tongan Cultural Group
Be Not Afraid (‘Oua e Manavahe)
Malo e Lelei, About 84 students in the Tongan Cultural Group at De La Salle College and they represented the school at the Polyfest every 2 years. Students are very proud of their culture and it shows every time they perform on stage. They are following the Catholic and Lasallian traditions of preparing our young men to work for our community and future leaders of our society. The school Theme this year is “Be not Afraid” (‘Oua e Manavahe), is in line with the belief that our young men should have the courage to stand up to what is right and for those who cannot stand for themselves, regardless of the consequences. A quality that will serve them well in the future and their lives.
At the Last Polyfest, we had our 2 items; Ma’ulu’ulu and Soke. We did very well with the Soke and got 2nd place. Now we are looking forward to another big performance from our group at the Polyfest next year.
